The Happiest 10-Year Old I Know....

It wasn't just another typical 10-year old boy birthday party with a cake and a few gifts. It was quite a birthday extravaganza!  The party was at David's house. The theme was Sponge Bob. The guests were family and friends from all over. The weather was perfect - sunny and 80's. And the yard was decked out!  There was the trampoline (jumped on by virtually everyone from the kids to David to Beema), the wading pool that even Grandpa had to get into, a teather ball game and of course the giant inflated water slide that all the kids loved.

Wendy brought all kinds of food and an ice cream cake.  We sat outside and watched the kids play in the yard for a few hours.  David grilled and we had dinner on the deck and then it was "The Evan Show".  He opened gift after gift and gushed over each one - excited about them all. It was so fun to watch him open them. He got cars, puzzles and games. He got things for school and a "make your own volcano" kit.  Oh and he got the most ADORABLE Cowboy t-shirt (hee-hee) with a big star on the front.

Among all the balloons, water and fun, the thing that really hit me was how nice it was to see all the people there who daily support David and Wendy as they are raising Evan. Evan has so many people who love him...he's a blessed little boy.  He has parents who would do anything for him.  He has a step-dad that adores him. Lots of grandparents who spoil him to death. He has a neighborhood of parents and kids that care about him.  I guess it goes without saying, I love him to pieces.....

He is a remarkable little boy with an equally remarkable and supportive family. It's no wonder that he is such a happy boy with so much love in his heart to give!
