Happy 58th Mary! We Love you!

Mary, I hope you have a happy birthday! I hope that you have a day where you feel loved and special and celebrated. You are such an important part of our family. Here’s a few birthday thoughts (58 in fact) that Mom and I put together. Happy Birthday, Mary! Love you!

Connie Says

1. Mary is the person that has held our families together all these years.

2. Mary handles the adversities of life as a challenge and does not give up, does not give in.

3. Mary loves bright colors that cheer up an outfit, a home and a bouquet.

4. Mary won State in Informative speaking... a fact not celebrated enough then nor now.

5. Mary is very empathetic and sympathetic to anyone's pain or discomfort that she comes in contact with.

6. Mary will talk to any stranger, even a burglar gets a friendly wave.

7. Mary loves to read all kinds of books, labels in the grocery stores, signs on the wall and every last credit in the movie theatre if she really loved the movie.

8. Mary has a great laugh, it is almost a laugh of a child that is expressing true joy.

9. Mary is an avid sports fan when she is into it. Baseball, Football, Basketball have all brought out the worst and the best in her at times. She loves pee wee baseball play offs every year.

10. Mary has taught me not to be so judge mental and critical just by her annoyance of these things being said around her.

11. Mary loves her children and enjoyed every stage of their lives, even this adult state.

12. Mary would love to live by the ocean or the cool mountains and sit on a porch swing and be still and quiet with nature.

13. Mary has been more effective in improving people's lives than she will ever know this side of heaven.

14. Mary is the person who put my hand in the hand of God more times than she can remember, but I remember them all.

15. Mary loved her niece and taught her niece how to be a great aunt also.

16. Mary has always been a great salesman. Slumping vacuum cleaners door to door, selling foreign language lessons, selling people on breathing treatments at Parkland.

17. Mary would love to have a little dog that she could hold and be a friend to, a pink poodle would be cute.

18. Mary rocks SAS shoes.

19. Mary is the only person I know that always has a hospital bag ready to grab and go at any minute. I must confess I followed her example and have my own hospital bag and can also go with me anywhere I may be sitting and waiting for awhile.

20. Mary is an engaging person at any party. She works the room and makes sure she has had a bit of conversation with every person there.

21. Mary has a wonderful way with Oleander bushes that I would love to be able to learn from her but all she says is "stick it in the ground you can't kill it.......oh really now.

22. Mary has always celebrated my birthday in the same way she would have liked her special day to be celebrated (celebrate others as you would have them celebrate you....)

23. Mary would always be my choice to be a phone a friend on any game show. Her collective knowledge of a variety of subjects is impressive.

24. Mary is more impressed with Cool Whip than anyone I know.

25. Mary is a good movie buddy. She laughs at the funny shows, is truly suprised by plots and gets angry at an actor being treated unfairly.

26. Mary always smells wonderful. She has her own fragarance and i love to hug her to get a whiff.

27. Mary believes the best in people until they prove her wrong and then she hopes the best for them.

28. Mary is the perfect person to be my sister: loving, a good listener, compassionate, secret keeper, persistent and always ready to celebrate good things that come along in my life. I love her.

29. Mary is a bright colored purse and a sparkly bracelet.

30. Mary is a supportive confidant over a Chili’s side salad and iced tea.

31. Mary gave me my love of Disney movies and crepe lunches.

32. Mary is a truly loyal sports fan…..who else could love a Ranger game so much?

33. Mary’s enthusiasm is contagious. She could make a root canal fun is it was something she was enthusiast about it.

34. Mary is brave in the face of sickness or pain.

35. Mary always makes the holidays, birthdays and any family gathering more fun.

36. Mary is not defined by her hair and nails, but they are definitely a part of her style!

37. Mary is an avid reader – not a discriminator of books. Mary can appreciate Shakespeare and Danielle Steel.

38. Mary would enjoy receiving ANYTHING that can be found at William Sonoma.

39. Mary knows a teddy bear is critical to childhood.

40. Mary was a gorgeous bride.

41. Mary knows how to grow and support a love of the arts in children from great novels to operas to plays to musical instruments.

42. Mary has an unconditional love for her niece, and only her family was allowed to call her “Kimmy” growing up.

43. Mary was instrumental in making my Mom who she is today, and I am so grateful for that!

44. Mary has a great imagination.

45. Mary knows an aunt plays second fiddle to no one and is just as important as any other member of a family.

46. Mary has a childlike excitement about the simplest things. She is the most fun to buy for on Christmas Eve and has the coolest band-aids around!

47. Mary is a great Bible study buddy.

49. Mary is truly loved by her family and friends.

52. The worse Mary feels, the better she looks: a trait I wish I could emulate.

53. Mary has been one of the biggest cheerleaders in my life. I wish that everyone had someone in their life like her.

54. Mary knows the power of a hug: both the need to give one and the need to receive one.

55. Mary is the kind of person who buys her waitresses’ baby gifts and knows the last day of work for her garbage man.

58. Mary has devoted her life to her family from childhood to today and we are all better people for having her in our lives.
