October 18, 2017

Wednesday, October 18th was by far my FAVORITE DAY of the trip. It was the Capri boat day.  David and I had gone back and forth on this. We could rent a ride on a boat for 24 people, 12 people, or just the four of us. The pricing was different for each of course, but we decided instead of the fancy lunch at Conca del Sogno, we would rent a private boat and have a guide take us around.  We went back and forth on whether it was worth the expense, but once we got on the boat we knew, IT WAS WORTH IT!

This was the only morning we had a few clouds. But it was still gorgeous. We headed out to the island of Capri to see all the grottos.  Here are some photos that David took.

I was a happy girl!

The water was a bright aqua blue and so clear you could see right through it.

This was the second largest lighthouse in Italy.

Our boat guide called us a driver to get us around and we saw the Church of San Michele on the Island of Capri. The floor of the church was painted tiles in the scene of Adam and Even being thrown out of the garden.

We did some shopping at CapriBell and I got a silver bell on a chain. The legend of St. Michael's Capri Bell is famous there and the bells are sold everywhere on the island. "The bell charm must be given to someone very special because for every tinkle every wish come true." So it will be a fun reminder of such an amazing day.

We got back on the boat and out guide took us to lunch in Ristorante Le Sirene in Nerano Bay. This was the scene outside the patio. As you can see the clouds cleared right up!

This is a stolen photo, but it's exactly what we had too.... the anti pasta.

It was so good, that's all we ended up having. We were full and headed back to the boat to get back to Positano.

On the way back it was SO BEAUTIFUL. Every shade of blue you could imagine. I was lying out in the the front of the boat and "emotion provoking movie soundtrack music" was coming through the speakers. My eyes just welled up. I was so overtaken with the beauty.  God's glory was so evident.  It was just the BEST part of the trip.  I was so grateful for this experience.  What a trip.

We headed back for dinner at Donna Rosa Il Ristorante  in Montepertuso. This was the nicest restaurant that we went to. I had the whole octopus in spicy tomato sauce and David had the cannelloni, a safer choice. We read that Jamie Oliver was a friend and had eaten here on his honeymoon. It was really, really good. I can see why! We all enjoyed our meal and another day came to an end.
