"Texas, Our Texas"

I was sitting at work today working on a flyer for a sale leaseback industrial property in Cheshire, CT of all things and completely out of the blue this song popped into my head.  Random!  I bet I hadn't thought about it since I learned it in the 2nd grade.  Bet you guys know it too!  How did it get so ingrained in our heads??

Texas, Our Texas! all hail the mighty State!
Texas, Our Texas! so wonderful so great!
Boldest and grandest, withstanding ev'ry test
O Empire wide and glorious, you stand supremely blest.

Put me in the mood to get up and do the Cotton-Eyed Joe! ;)
