Winter's Coming.....Pellet Delivery!

A big day at the Oakes house! Pellet delivery. Fall is finally in full swing and the temps are dipping lower and lower all the time. In the 40's in the morning and 60's as the highs most days. You've seen the winter photos, the coats, the cold, the snow, the ice. This is how we keep warm up here. Perhaps one day one of you might live up here in the north and need to know these valuable things! (like watching out for toliet motors in basements or keeping eye out for bats) Once a year David has the pellets delievered and they take over the garage.Yesterday was that day. We burn about a sack a day depending on the weather and day of the week. It's cheaper to buy them in bulk I suppose, so a whole season worth arrives off the truck.

We have pellet stoves or "the oven" as I call it. They sit in the house like a contained little fireplace and burn these wooden pellets. This one little thing in the corner can heat the entire first floor wonderfully, cozy warm!
