Marsha's Day
In case you are reading this and you don't have Facebook, and just because I think it's SO COOL and I hope other people stumble across this and get the same idea (like I stumbled across a blog), I am posting a few of the things that Marsha and Mom did on her birthday.
1. They left bookmarks in the drive thru book return at the library.
2. They stopped by an ER and left donut holes for staff, diapers & wipes on the bathroom changing table, a bag of crackers and cookies for the volunteers and coins taped to all the vending machines.
3. They left one dollar bills in books in the children's section at Half Price books.
4. They left lotto tickets and big tips for their waiters all day.
5. They delivered flowers.
6. They dropped off treats at a pet adoption center.
7. They made a late night run to Wal Mart and had fun hiding money in the school supply section. Under things, in back packs, in lunch boxes - anywhere some little child could find it.
8. They made a donation to a local charity-based thrift shop.
9. They left flowers on a grave of a friend.
10. They went to the police department and left 6 dozen donut holes and a basket FULL of new stuffed animals for them to give to children they help. Marsha said they didn't get a photo but it was priceless watching them walk away reading WHY they donated.
There was much more, but that was a sampling. The best part was reading Marsha's page all day and seeing other people and hearing their ROAK too. Yesterday there was a lot of kindness going on in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex! It was so appropriate to celebrate someone like Marsha, who brings cheer to everyone she meets everyday of the year.
