- The first Rolling Stone Magazine is published.
- Respect is recorded by Aretha Franklin and released in April.
- Elvis Presley and Priscilla Beaulieu are married in Las Vegas.
- The Beatles legendary release of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, nicknamed "The Soundtrack of the Summer of Love"; it would be number one on the albums charts throughout the summer of 1967.
- The 1967 NFL season was the 48th regular season of the National Football League. The league expanded to 16 teams with the addition of the New Orleans Saints.
- The first Super Bowl is played in Los Angeles The Green Bay Packers defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 35-10.
- The Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup.
- The Green Bay Packers become the first team in the modern era to win their third consecutive NFL Championship, 21-17 over the Dallas Cowboys in what became known as "The Ice Bowl".
