Monday we woke up ready to explore Positano.  We started with a delicious breakfast served in the garden by Antonietta.  Every breakfast started with a dessert of some sort.  We had ricotta cakes, chocolate cakes, profiteroles, cheesecake, lemon cake .... always a delicious sweet start.  There were pizzas, meatballs, sausages, even eggplant parmesan one morning. There were fresh eggs with toast, delicious fruit and fresh squeezed juices and coffee and tea. Every morning was a feast, course after course.

We decided to walk from Montepertuso to Positano.  A downhill walk.  On google maps, it says it's only 1.5 miles, but it felt like so much longer!  Going down stairs uses a whole different muscle group than walking up. We walked down stairway after stairway.  Needless to say, my legs never recovered the entire trip. It was a workout! Here are a few photos that David took:

The views were gorgeous.  The walking was tough.

We had a gorgeous blue day every day we were there.

It's a little dark, but see the steps in the bottom right corner? That's the path we were walking down.

Occasionally I stopped for breaks (I mean photo opportunities).

But once we finally got down to the bottom, it was worth it.

We had dinner that night at Il Ritrovo in Montepertuso.  I had scorpion fish sauteed in a pan with capers and garlic. It was a simple white fish.  Delicious!

I had never heard of a scorpion fish, so I googled it. It looks like a big red goldfish to me.

Our first full day sums up our entire trip: lots of walking, plenty of stairs, eating lots of good food and looking at beautiful views.

Such a beautiful place to wake up to each day. All that walking requires a lot of food fuel I guess.
