Out last full day!
Dan and Linda wanted to see the Paestum Ruins and I wanted to go shopping in Sorrento, so we split up this day for our own adventures.
We took a ferry from Positano to Capri. Got off and changed to another ferry going to Sorrento. As you can see it was another beautiful day.
We walked up this road to get to the city. (Later we learned there was an elevator. We did it wrong. We took the elevator down and made the walk up.)
I loved Sorrento. It was the largest city we visited. There were shops everywhere! The streets were hustle and bustle. We say a bride and trolley cars, umbrella lined beaches and fresh fish markets. I wish we could have stayed longer. There was so much to discover in Sorrento.
Downtown was decorated. I thought it looked like Christmas with the red and green and gold. But maybe it was an Italian holiday? I'm 'not sure, but it was so festive.
This was in one of the town greens. We should have been in the photo for perspective, but we only came up to his toes. It was HUGE!
I loved this guy standing guard near all the ferry ticket booths. I felt like him all week walking up and down the stairs.
Our hosts told us that there was a great pizza spot near the beach, so we stopped to get a pizza to take back on the ferry for an afternoon snack. Acqu'e Sale (Water & Salt). It was delicious. We finished it up as we headed back to Positano.
This was our last adventure. All four of us met back for dinner that night at the family restaurant, La Tagliata. We had all the antipasti we had the first time we went and pasta with zucchini. It was the perfect way to end our trip. Just like we started. Sunday morning we were up early and back to the Naples Airport to travel home.
