My First Visit From Texas!

pretty good friends considering they come from completely different backgrounds - Brian Andreas

I had such a fun weekend! Kim House came into town for work, so she came in on Saturday to spend a couple of days at David's. It was so fun to see her in CT! Before we went to the casino the night she came in, we asked the neighbors to take our pictures out in the backyard on the trampoline (above). After a few minutes of laughing and jumping like 5-year olds, we headed out dinner and a little gambling at the Mohegan Sun Casino (http://www.mohegansun.com/). It's a GIANT casino with unbelievable shopping and restaurants and hotel/spa and of course gambling. After Mexican food for dinner, we naturally had to stop for a Godiva chocolate and a run through a couple of shops. None of us won A THING - we lost it all!

Then Kim and I stayed up talking until about 5:00 in the morning about everything under the sun. After about 2 hours of sleep, we started the day over again. We went to West Hartford for the famous "Oprah" lobster grilled cheese (worthy of a blog entry all its own) at Grant's and then to the beach so Kim could stick her toes in the water. We went to the Fitton's (some of David's friends) for ice cream and a house tour and then back home. After Kim left for her hotel, David and I went to the Dodge Music Center for the Montgomery Gentry and Toby Keith concert (again, worthy of a blog entry all its own - maybe I'll work on that today!). Needless to say, by Sunday night I was EXHAUSTED but glad to have a visit from my friend from Texas!
