A Fun Day In Stonington, CT

Saturday we packed up and headed to Stonington, CT. One of our favorite things to do on a free weekend is pick a new spot and explore - have lunch - window shop - check out the town. It was a BEAUTIFUL day! Here's a few photos we took:

The Light House Museum

Of all the boat names???

Don't see buildings this old in Texas, do you? Built in 1771!

Cute little place to stop and eat.

Had to stop and get a drink. it gets hot in that 80 degree weather!  ;)

He was on the patio of a little dock-side restaurant.

Seagull watching overhead.

We walked out on this long stretch of rocks.  This was the view back to the shore from where we were standing.

More views from the rocks.

It was a really cute town. If you want to see more, check it out here:  http://www.stoningtonboroughct.com/

I hereby declare you "Postcard Princess." Because that is where you live. Every picture looks so pleasant, picturesque, and peaceful. Do you know how lucky you are to live somewhere that gets up to a balmy 80 degrees in the middle of the day in August?? I envy that you probably only perspired only slightly, glistened even, after a day of sightseeing. I would send you a picture of my afternoon out and about (the 45 second walk from the AC of the library to the AC of the car) but it seems that I have melted another camera. That is what happens when you live on the surface of the sun!! :) J

It IS beautiful up here! I can't deny that. But you have to remember these are our glory days ~ the summer and fall! You'll be SO GLAD to be in Texas when we are out shoveling snow and freezing our fingers off! It all balances out.
