The Lake In October

We stopped by the lake house so David and George could load a few things into the shed for winter storage. If you are honest, the lake in October is a little sad. No swimmers, no kayaks or sailboats.  The thrill of summer is gone. There is a chill in the air and the water is just plain cold. But the scenery is still gorgeous!

Water so clear you can see the rocks in the bottom.

No eagles or other birds perching.  All is quiet and still.  But the skies were blue as far as the eye could see .

This looks like I  went crazy with the color, but with the light the way it was, these trees really did look almost hot pink instead of a deep red.  It has been a strange fall. The leaves seem to be going from green to the ground. We haven't had the bright, brilliant colors like in past years. I was excited to see this tree outside the lake house.

Don't worry Mr. Bear ... everyone will be back next year!
