UCONN and Dairy Bar Ice Cream

I have been to Yale and Harvard, but never UCONN, which is just minutes from our house. So, we went to the Dairy Bar for ice cream and a walking tour of the campus. It was BEAUTIFUL! A really nice campus. Go Huskies!

Our first stop was for ice cream at the Dairy Bar. I got coconut and David got something chocolatey.  It was REALLY good! Some of the best in the state.

The UConn Dairy Bar, or Dairy Product Salesroom as it was originally named, opened sometime between 1953 and 1954
to sell dairy products that were manufactured by the Creamery. Today, the Dairy Bar manufactures ice cream according
to its original and highly popular recipe. Over 200,000 customers visit the Dairy Bar annually to enjoy more than 24 flavors.

These flowers were outside the Dairy Bar and all over the campus. Beautiful, bright colors.

Isn't it a Blue Bell commercial that claims the ice cream is so good because the cows are so happy living in the gorgeous fields?  These cows would give them a run for their money. The property was so peaceful and beautiful. It was definitely the best time of the year to go.

We walked around the campus, but my battery was starting to die, so I didn't get photos of the buildings. But it's a beautiful campus. I have a feeling we will be back!
