Parenthood

Tonight is the end of a series that David and I have watched faithfully since the beginning. Parenthood. We've never missed an episode. I don't think we've even watched one separately. It's one show we always wait and watch together. It often ends with both of us in tears.

It was created by Ron Howard and stars Peter Krause, Lauren Graham, Dax Shepard, Monica Potter, Erika Christensen, Craig T. Nelson, and so many others.  There were guest stars including Jason Ritter, John Corbett, William Baldwin, Richard Dreyfuss, Ray Romano and so many more.  The casting was just amazing.

We don't know anyone else who watches it.  Maybe that's why it's going off the air this year.

We don't get it.  It's just SO good.

It's a show about family, but it's seen more through the male character eyes than any other family show I have seen. It's about fatherhood, brothers, husbands and wives. It's about aging parents, close siblings, single mothers, special needs kids, and growing up. They dealt with cancer, autism, interracial relationships, adoption and so much more. It's about all the different seasons in life and the challenges and joys that are in those seasons.  It's about tough times in marriage and of course all the ups and down of being a parent.

We are going to miss it. They've become friends that we love to stop and visit every Thursday night. But tonight is the last visit.
