Defending The Title

There are two kinds of people in this world: The kind who gets chills when they hear that NFL music play and the kind who don't. Which means there are three kinds of marriages: The kind where no one cares and they miss out altogether, the kind where only one cares and fights persist for six months, and then there's the best kind! The kind where both parties eagerly await the next big game....where Sundays are for church, football and chili. The kind where the husband and wife cheer loudly in support of their mutually loved team. Okay, that's a PERFECT marriage. If you've got one of those, be grateful! We, on the other hand, settle for his and her remotes, dueling jerseys and a whole lotta trash talk! Awww....football season. Can September 13th get here fast enough? But that's a blog for another day. Sorry Jenny.

Last night was David's football fantasy draft. Remember he's an "old guy" so they had to go old school. There was no remote into the computer business last night. It was 20 guys around a table with pens and paper, magazines and spreadsheets fighting it out for the best team. But you see, David had the most at risk....he has to defend his title. He won last year (his rookie year). Whatta proud wife I am! ;) So here's hoping that Manning (that's Peyton - the good one) and Farve throw their arms off this year! We've got a title to defend!

I am looking forward to every minute
of football season this year! GO COWBOYS!

Seriously - you people need more to do. I'm glad you were proudly rooting (quietly) for David to get his "picks." He is certainly a lucky man. I took John being occupied in front of the computer as an opportunity for some much needed alone time. He loves me despite my complete lack of enthusiasm - ha!!
p.s. thanks for the link - great article! You seemed really inspired when you wrote that one, you should write about me more often!
And yes, if there is even the REMOTE possibility that it would make you jealous, football season is in full swing here. As a matter of fact, John is out scouting as we speak... :)

And you forgot the FOURTH kind: the marriage where both spouses are very happy. This kind takes longer to develop, like a fine wine. It evolves from the "bitter" to the "sweet" in just a few short seasons. In this kind, one is elated, he can hoot an holler at the TV because there are CONSTANT games on from July to the bitter end of December/beginning of January. And the other more delicate spouse who can hide out in peace and absolute quiet and work on writing her books, editing photos, scrapbooking, reading, sneak out to the gym etc.

Well put! Well, it's not going to be quite as fun to tease you this year since you don't seem to HATE it so, but I'm definitely glad that you have have time to get things done. The question I have is where do the kiddos fall? Do they sit and yell with him, or are they off doing their own thing. And most importantly, do they have jerseys? :)
